  • Rubber Ducky Records, a record shop on a canal boat docked in the north of England, has sunk. Founder Myles Greenwood broke the news via Instagram earlier today, April 21st. "Sadly, heading into Manchester my propellor got caught on a rug/mattress and it broke my stern gland, sinking the boat," the post read. "Managed to save three or four boxes of records but the rest of stock and equipment was submerged." Greenwood walked away unscathed, but admitted that the damage is "pretty bad." He's unsure when the operation will be back up and running. "But don't worry," he added, "I haven't given up!" Rubber Ducky Records has set up a GoFundMe campaign following the incident. The money raised will go towards "a full refit inside, new engine, new stock and new equipment." Greenwood, who used to work at now-shuttered Swiss record store Legram Vinyl Garden, launched Rubber Ducky Records last October. It's docked in the town of Sowerby Bridge in West Yorkshire. The shop was due to run a stall at The Pickle Factory's new vinyl fair. It's unclear if this will still go ahead. Here are more photos of the wreckage and donate to the GoFundMe.
