  • A new second-hand record fair is coming to East London, starting next month. Launching on Saturday, April 8th, the event will initially host four record stalls—House of Dog, Rubber Ducky, Piers Harrison & Toby Tobias, and Loose. & Bizarre Trax—and a non-vinyl stall across three spaces: The Pickle Factory, Canvas and their connecting cocktail bar. The first non-vinyl seller will be Manchester's 20K and a dead sheep, which sells rare books on rave culture. According to The Pickle Factory, the plan is for the event to become a broader second-hand fair, selling everything from clothes to antiques. "As a London-based digger myself, I find the city lacks a regular second-hand market like this, and I can't wait to buy (and sell) some records here," said creative director Toby Wareham. "But just as importantly, because it's also a day party, and a Saturday hangout with lovely food and drinks, we want it to become a hub for our community every first Saturday of the month." The first day party will take place at The Pickle Factory, with sets from duo Mother Earth and residents from local events Bizarre Trax and Loose. Handling the food and drink will be Dom's Subs, Two Tribes Brewery, Behind This Wall and Djuce Wines. A portion of ticket sales from each event will go to a local charity. For the first edition, donations will be made to Hackney Night Shelter to fight homelessness. Last month, The Pickle Factory announced a partnership with London festival GALA. The club will undergo interior and structural redevelopment this summer, including the addition of a second dance floor.
