Galaxian is releasing his first album since 2010.
Out May 23rd, We Are Power is described by Shipwrec and Foul-Up, the two labels jointly releasing the LP, as a "rumination on the confrontation and power clash between humankind, nature, the spiritual and mechanistic industrial growth societies." Speaking to Resident Advisor, Galaxian called it "some of my best work."
The album opens with a sample of Native American author and activist John Trudell's "Take Back The Earth" speech from 1980. More words from the speech appear throughout the record.
We Are Power is the first Galaxian album in over a decade, following EPs on Natural Sciences, Helena Hauff's Return To Disorder label and a collaboration with DJ Stingray, among others. Galaxian also released an album under the alias Kas for Ilian Tape last year.
