- "LesAlpx" is out now, with the B-side "Coorabell" coming in July.

Floating Points will release a new 12-inch, LesAlpx / Coorabell, on Ninja Tune next month.
Out today, the A-side "LesAlpx" clocks in at under five minutes and recalls Sam Shepherd's 2014 track "Nuit Sonores." The B-side "Coorabell"—plus an extended cut of "LesAlpx"—will arrive with the vinyl release on July 12th.
"It's essentially the sound of me having loads of fun with the machines in my studio and going back to basics," Shepherd says. "I started going back to my early records and all the sounds I loved playing at clubs like fabric and Plastic People. I wanted to capture the immediacy of that music and the feeling that I got when I was on the dance floor, of being immersed in a track that pulls you along instantly."
This 12-inch follows Floating Points' two 2017 releases on Pluto, Reflection - Mojave Desert, the soundtrack to the film of the same name, and the single Ratio. Earlier this year, he compiled the latest edition of LateNightTales.
Shepherd also has a string of tour dates scheduled from July through October, including an all-day DJ set at fabric ahead of the single release and a live set at Nova Batida in September.
