Sunset Sound System announces 25th anniversary celebrations

- Solar and Galen's party will hold park and boat parties, festival takeovers and its tenth Sunset Campout his year.
- Sunset Sound System is marking 25 years of parties. The San Francisco series, run by DJs Solar and Galen, has become an international concern a quarter of a decade after Galen "took a generator with two turntables, a mixer and soundsystem to Berkeley Marina to gather friends in celebration of the spring equinox" one afternoon in 1994, as the press release says. To celebrate, the duo have scheduled their busiest 2019 yet, encompassing not only Sunset Sound System parties but also festival stage takeovers at Meadows In The Mountain in Bulgaria and Love International in Croatia. They'll throw two Silver Jubilee events at Stafford Lake in Novato, California in the spring and fall, and host their tenth annual Sunset Campout festival in Belden Town in late July. In addition, they've lined up several boat parties—nabbing Dixon for the first on May 19th—and have booked Maurice Fulton and DJ Garth for their kick-off party with Permission To Land at Midway on April 7th.Photo credit: Robin Russell
