- The UK artist has reworked tracks from the likes of Placebo, Crash Course In Science and A Place To Bury Strangers.
Iconic UK techno and electro jock Dave Clarke will release a new compilation in April called Charcoal Eyes: A Selection Of Remixes From Amsterdam.
Clarke's extensive output over the years has included heaps of remix credits—he's reworked everyone from Gary Numan, The Chemical Brothers and Depeche Mode to DJ Hell, Robert Armani and Marcel Fengler. As its name suggests, the bulk of this new set was crafted at his new studio in Amsterdam, where he now lives. Reworks of material from long-established groups like Placebo and The Neon Judgement along with Maelstrom & Louisahhh!, A Place To Bury Strangers and The Amazing Snakeheads make the cut.
Charcoal Eyes will come on vinyl, CD and digital formats, with the CD and digital versions featuring five extra tracks. That includes two takes from _Unsubscribe, Clarke's collaboration with Mr. Jones. The duo remixed Crash Course In Science (whose recent single for Dark Entries earned our RA Recommends nod of approval) and House of Black Lanterns. Augmenting the collection, which will see release through Belgian label N.E.W.S., are sleeve notes discussing each track and a two-verse poem from Clarke himself.
