  • Richie Hawtin will headline the Resident Advisor party at this year's SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. On Tuesday, March 15th, the day of overlap between SXSW's Music and Interactive conferences, we'll moderate a panel discussion called PLAYdifferently, where Hawtin will discuss his past and the future of innovation in the dance music industry. This will include Hawtin revealing new details about the new mixer project that he's working on with Andy Rigby-Jones, the mind behind Allen & Heath's Xone mixers. Later on that evening, starting at 9 PM, we'll move to Austin club Kingdom for our official SXSW party, where Hawtin will perform, new mixer in tow, with support from rising techno star Matrixxman. For those in attendance it'll be a rare chance to catch Hawtin in an intimate setting—Kingdom's capacity is just 150. Hawtin is also taking his new mixer on the road with the Prototypes Tour. It will start in Los Angeles on March 14th, before taking in slots at some of the world's best-known clubs (fabric, Robert Johnson, Watergate, Output) as well as stops at Musikmesse in Frankfurt and Miami's Winter Music Conference. On top of this, the tour will host stages at Movement in Detroit and Awakenings in Amsterdam. He'll be joined at these shows by the likes of Maceo Plex, Francois K, tINI, Mike Servito, Chris Liebing, DJ Tennis, Nastia, Dubfire, Joris Voorn, Loco Dice, Paco Osuna, Matt Karmil and The Martinez Brothers.
