A promising taste of the Chinese-Canadian producer's new album, with a guest spot from Xiamen's Knopha.
Yu Su recorded her debut album Yellow River Blue after a cross-country tour of China in 2019, where she was inspired by bustling scenes full of talented artists. Knopha, a Xiamen-based producer, is one of them. He assists on an alternate version of "Xiu," where gentle string arpeggios are cushioned by jazzy drums and a bassline that sounds like it was floated in from a drum & bass tune and fed muscle relaxants. It's soothing and cocooning, like stepping into a fragrant flower garden, finished off with gentle, singsongy chanting.
