- Inspired rhythms on the Bristol artist's first EP for Hessle Audio.
- Following a well-received release by Anz back in September, Hessle Audio return with an EP from another interesting UK artist, Laksa. Laksa is a cofounder of re:lax, a club night and monthly radio show on NTS Radio with re:ni, and he also shines as a producer. Past records on Timedance and ILIAN TAPE explored techno, ambient and downtempo with funky, nonstandard rhythms. On Fire Kit, the Bristol producer presents three tracks, each with a different kind of stimulating energy.
The title track is a slow-paced but busy mover, all dancehall vibes and heavy percussion. Even coming from such a versatile artist, the flip side is a pleasant surprise. "Belly Brocka" and "T's Tent" are faster and more intense, full of dramatic breaks and energetic rhythms. Both have an appealing sense of disorder, drawing you in with their fast tempos and thrilling drum arrangements.
