- Four Tet does rolling house music, with a twist.
- Four Tet didn't release an album this year, but his name seemed to be everywhere. Between releasing sought-after secret weapons (once he cleared the samples) and launching (and curating) Spotify playlists, Kieran Hebden's name never seemed to be far from the RA homepage. His final remix of the year—of Skrillex, Boys Noize & Ty Dolla $ign—could also be the track that takes his name the furthest. It's the most functional—so functional that you could imagine a superstar Ibiza DJ like Marco Carola spinning its rolling opening half. Until the dreamy breakdown hits, that is. It wouldn't be a Four Tet tune without that customary descent into near-silence, this time laced with Ty Dolla $ign's romantic singing. That breakdown means DJs after something functional will have trouble playing it, but something tells me Four Tet doesn't mind.
