Faux-soul man Jamie Lidell's new long-player Jim arrives in late April.
Jamie Lidell returns on Warp with his third album, entitled Jim, on April 29.
After a stab at glitched-out IDM on 2000’s Muddlin Gear, Jamie Lidell unveiled a new soul guise on 2005’s Multiply and Jim will continue that trend, if first single, ‘Little Bit of Feel Good’ is any indication (YouTubed below). Lidell promises “a bold, promiscuously diverse album, mixing up gospel grooves, sweetly sung and fiercely passionate soul, delicately moving ballads, thumping early R & B, synthed-up disco, and even a touch of ‘hillbilly funk’.” So get up offa that porch, Cletus.
