  • A new venue is opening in Amsterdam in the building previously home to De School. Founded by Lola Edo and Samuel King, Tilla Tec will take over the well-known building on April 1st and host its official launch party on April 12th. The team, which also includes Jamillia Barry (partnerships and programme) and Passion Dzenga (marketing director), will renovate the space before opening. As well as club nights, Tilla Tec will host workshops, live shows, a restaurant and more during the day. The launch programme is still TBA, though there will be a focus on platforming queer and BIPOC talent. Tilla Tec will run the whole building, which has been empty since De School shut in January. The legendary club reopened in September 2022 for a second stint that lasted 16 months. From April, Tilla Tec will invite other businesses—including a queer tattoo parlour, a queer gym and a coffee roasting company—to rent ateliers within the sprawling complex.
