Montreal may see 24-hour zones in 2024

Venues in Montreal's Latin Quarter could be allowed to stay open 24 hours a day from next year, according to Radio-Canada. The policy is expected to be announced in January and adopted in early spring. Clubs and bars currently close at 3 AM.

Detroit soul legend Amp Fiddler dies aged 65

Detroit soul legend Joseph Anthony Fiddler, AKA Amp Fiddler, has died aged 65. Leaving behind a rich musical legacy, the singer, songwriter, producer and keyboardist performed with George Clinton's Parliament and Funkadelic groups, and later tutored the likes of J Dilla, Waajeed and Andrés.

ZENNER apologises after sending 'antisemitic statement' to Jewish promoter

Berlin venue ZENNER has apologised for the "clearly antisemtic statement" sent to a Jewish promoter by one of its employees. When representative from Karneval de Purim wrote to ZENNER to enquire about hosting an event there, a member of staff known simply as "Kim" replied saying it would be unsuitable. "Nothing personal but not at ZENNER," they wrote.

Dekmantel announces Palestine fundraiser at Amsterdam club Radio Radio

Dekmantel is hosting a Palestine fundraiser event in collaboration with Amsterdam club and radio station Radio Radio and booking agency Minor AM. All ticket proceeds will be donated to humanitarian organisations Medical Aid Palestine, Doctors Without Borders and Plant een Olijfboom.
