- The Detroit legend models some of the collection and narrates a short film.
Jeff Mills is the star of German fashion house Jil Sander's Fall/Winter 2023 advertising campaign.
The techno icon has modelled some of the collection and also narrated a short film, directed by Stephen Kidd. In the film, which was shot in Manchester, Mills ruminates on the intersection of music, technology and fashion.
"As I became interested in music, I was also really interested in fashion," he said. "As a musician, I can look at that, turn to music and think about the same type of topics: the shades, the colours, the textures and translate it into sound, even considering the silence after sound."
This isn't the first time Mills has collaborated with a fashion brand. Last December, he soundtracked a Dior runway show in front of the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. More recently, he released an album as Tomorrow Comes The Harvest, a trio made up of Mills, Indian tabla player Prabhu Edouard and Guyanese keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary.
