  • Danny Tenaglia is auctioning off parts of his vast collection of DJ and production gear. Yesterday, October 2nd, the US artist announced a partnership with Amplifyd—an auction house for artists and music brands—to sell the equipment he's accumulated over the span of his nearly 50-year career. Several units in his collection are going for more than $1,000, such as the Roland TR-909, the Roland Juno 106, the Oberhim DMX Midi and the EMU SP-1200. "I have so much stuff between DJ gear and keyboards and drum machines and records that I've decided it's time," he said via Instagram. "It just sits down here. When we make new songs a lot of it doesn't even get used. So I think it's time for me to have these fall into the hands of someone who will appreciate them as much as I have over the years." He continued: "I'll be 63 soon. I'm going into five decades of being a DJ. It's time for me to find new homes for these amazing pieces of gear." In July, Tenaglia revealed he was receiving treatment for cancer. In the caption of his auction announcement post, he said he will be getting new tests done in December and will then update fans regarding the status of his illness.
