  • Amsterdam is getting a new club this autumn. On the first weekend of October, CLUB RAUM will open its doors near Sloterdijk Station in a former industrial building from the '60s. The club is run by Sven Bijma and Diego Meijers, the organisers of queer club night SPIELRAUM, and aims to foster a space for the city's LGBTQIA+ community. CLUB RAUM residents will include locals Fafi Abdel Nour, KI/KI and Mary Lake, plus more TBA. The club has also confirmed regular performances from the likes of Mama Snake, Sedef Adasï, Bashkka and Angel D'lite. Exact programming details are still TBA. Launched in 2017, SPIELRAUM has collaborated with venues like Berlin's Berghain and Bassiani in Tbilisi. In 2021, the party was highlighted in Amsterdam municipality's policy plan focused on helping marginalised groups. Here are two more photos of CLUB RAUM.
