Eris Drew has started a new label.
Ecstatic Editions will focus on special-edition vinyl, archival releases and cassettes. Frustrated with the state of the vinyl industry and delayed manufacturing schedules, Drew said she decided to start her own project to have more of her favorite producers’ music on wax.
Ecstatic Editions' first release is a vinyl-only, double-LP from Toronto-based Ciel. Ecstatic Editions Vol. 1 is an anthology of Ciel's productions that have never been available on vinyl. It features tracks off her 2020 EP Trojan Horse, her collaborative project with D. Tiffany and remixes for Off The Meds and Cuushe, among others.
According to Drew's recent Instagram post, future releases on Ecstatic Editions include a DJ mix Drew recorded to cassette in 1997 as well as 12-inches by Ryan Clover and Ariel Me Llamo.
