  • Global Hearts, the company behind former Tokyo clubs Contact and Sound Museum Vision, has announced a new, 150-capacity space. ENTER will sit on the sixth floor close to the former Contact site, opposite Miyashita Park in Jingūmae, a district of Shibuya. Its location makes it a prime party spot, with other clubs such as WOMB, Mitsuki and Azumaya close by. The opening will take place over three days, starting on December 15th. In contrast to Contact, ENTER's DJ booth will be in the middle of the dance floor. Naoki Saito, former manager of Contact who is now running ENTER, told Resident Advisor the team "wants the artists to play where they can hear the sound the clearest, and our customers to enjoy a 360-degree view of the artists' performance." The sound system is the same as in Contact's main room, Studio X. With one speaker in each corner and a Meyer Sound subwoofer, the aim is optimal sound quality across the dance floor. ENTER will stay open until 9 AM on Friday and Saturday, which will rival other local afterparty spots such as Red Bar and Aoyama Hachi. Also, guests who visit Global Hearts' other venues—DJ BAR Bridge, overlooking Shibuya Crossing, and DJ Bar Wrep—will be able to access ENTER for free by showing their wristbands. "It's not about whether ENTER is big or small, famous or unknown, and so on," said Saito. "There are many reasons to come, such as listening to music and dancing both on the floor and at the bar, meeting new people and discovering new music. But we hope that everyone leaves with the motivation to do something the next day, or even to become an artist themselves." Scheduled over December 15th, 16th and 17th, ENTER's opening weekend will host a range of Japan-based DJs. On the 15th, TYO GQOM member Hiro "BINGO" Watanabe will headline, supported by CYBERHACKSYSTEM and Shinsuke Goto. Friday 16th sees MAYUDEPTH—co-organiser of Motorpool, one of Contact's longest-running parties—step up alongside ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U and Ukrainian DJ Kali. After closing the final party at Contact, Moodman will take things full circle on Saturday the 17th alongside hotly tipped DJ Torei, DJ duo An toi, Katimi Ai and Yuhei Murata. Browse the listings below for more information on the opening parties, plus two other upcoming shows. The ENTER team has also announced a crowdfunding campaign to help with startup costs.
