  • Fracture's new project explores the impact and legacy of pirate radio in London. Arriving November 18th on the UK artist's Astrophonica label, 0860 includes an eight-track, double-vinyl album, 19-track mixtape and a radio station, 0860.fm. Ahead of the release, 0860.fm will broadcast interviews with Bryan Gee, DJ Flight, Scratcha DVA, DJ Dextrous, Uncle Dugs, Mantra, Eddie Peake, Om Unit, Naina & SHERELLE, Stamina MC, Bedroom Beats & B-sides author Laurent Fintoni and more. It will also broadcast lost recordings of pirate radio shows from the '90s and '00s on stations like Kool, Rinse and Pulse. "The album title 0860 refers specifically to the classic Kool FM phone line number 0860 395 262, which I would occasionally and nervously call from my parent's landline to ask for shouts and requests," Fracture said. "The deeper I look into my own genetic make-up as an artist, the more I can see the hereditary traits of the Jungle pirate radio stations." He added: "This project isn't intended to be a definitive or final commentary on the history of pirate radio; it's a chronicle of the part that I experienced and my reaction to its lineage." Listen to "0860" featuring Eastman, watch a trailer for the project and tune into 0860.fm.
