  • Temporary Pleasure, a collective of architects, event producers and other creatives, is developing a pop-up venue in Dublin. Described as a "temporary club project," it's set to launch in September next year and will stay open for six weeks. "In response to the disappearance of the Irish nightclub, Temporary Pleasure will transform of a vacant inner-city space into an ephemeral, site-specific venue," the group said in a press statement. Designed to address community needs, programming is expected to feature local talents. The public will also be involved through participatory design, lectures and construction workshops. The venture will be built using funds awarded by the Arts Council of Ireland. Temporary Pleasure is focused on reimagining clubs away from commercial-oriented venues to grassroots spaces that foster inclusivity. Last month, it held a workshop in Barcelona where participants built a DIY club. Watch a video of that process below.
