  • Bedford Hardware is a new music-oriented store in downtown Hong Kong. Opened last week, the space sells zines, DJ equipment, records, apparel and assorted merch from local creatives such as skateboarding brands Victoria and Loading Crew, graphic designers OKOKOK and graffiti artist LOUSY. It's located at shopping complex The Landmark, right opposite radio station and creative studio BELOWGROUND. Bedford Hardware also plans to co-host radio shows, parties and art installations, among other events. The space is named after an industrial neighbourhood in the city's Kowloon district, where party crew and apparel designers Yeti Out lived in a former bra factory that they repurposed into a co-working space alongside other DJs, promoters and artists. Three residents from that era (Arthur Bray, one-half of Yeti Out, Leo Su of OKOKOK and Loading Crew's Ah B) came up with the idea for Bedford Hardware, Bray told Resident Advisor. Inspired by Hong Kong's old market stalls, the store features a tin roof and metallic details common in local hardware stores, Bray added.
