  • Death in Vegas frontman Richard Fearless has a new solo album on the way. Future Rave Memory arrives digitally on November 5th via his own label Drone with a vinyl release slated for December 17th. Spanning six tracks, it was influenced by the neighbourhood around his studio, Metal Box, located at the intersection of the Lea and Thames rivers. Speaking to Beats Per Minute, the artist described the area as "a Ballardian landscape, which constantly inspires." "I hear the constant screeching of metal-on-metal from the adjacent steel factory, and the drone of flights to and from City Airport. I sit among their ambience, feeling the pulse of the city, with the dark water a constant presence. The energy from this junction where two tidal rivers collide is powerful; it seems to heal. I think of the German word ‘Strom’, which means the flow of electricity, the flow of water." Future Rave Memory is a follow-up to Fearless's 2019 debut, Deep Rave Memory, which was inspired by the same neighbourhood. Read our review of that record. Listen to "Our Acid House," a 15-minute track off the forthcoming release.
