  • A new Matthew Herbert documentary is premiering next month. A Symphony Of Noise will premiere at Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival (CPH:DOX) ahead of wide release. (CPH:DOX will screen a selection of TBA films online ahead of a limited in-person component.) The Enrique Sanchez Lansch-directed film explores the career and unique sample-creating process of the well-loved British dance and experimental artist Matthew Herbert, who has gained recognition over the years for his masterful sampling of everyday sounds. In 2019, Herbert released the The State Between Us with his Brexit Big Band project, an album which explored British identity using field recordings taken from the streets of London. Read more about the upcoming film here. Head over to the CPH:DOX site for more information on this month's premiere. Watch the trailer.
