The beloved record store will move to 6200 Hollywood Blvd, at the corner of Argyle, this fall.
Amoeba Music has confirmed its new Hollywood location.
The address was revealed in a video featuring Tyler, The Creator, which also includes a peek at the store's interior space. The store will move from its current location at 6400 Sunset Blvd to 6200 Hollywood Blvd, at the corner of Argyle St. Amoeba says the new space is "a bit smaller... [but] still a huge space that will house all the formats and goodies we carry now."
Amoeba has been expected to relocate since 2015, when it was purchased by a real estate developer that planned to build a high-rise on the existing site. The store has been allowed to remain until this fall, when it will relocate to the new address at the ground level of the El Centro apartment complex.
There's no exact opening date yet, but Amoeba's official website says it will be after Labor Day this year. They also promise that in-store live shows, DJ sets and meet-and-greets will continue as normal.
