Eclair Fifi is starting a label called River Rapid.
The Scottish DJ has tapped Afrodeutsche for the imprint's debut release. On RR001, Henrietta Smith-Rolla provides four new tracks, with "Make The Call" as the first single. "Back when I wrote 'Make the Call,'" she says, "I was listening to a lot of Afrobeat and jazz, which undoubtedly influenced the pace of it. All the different parts were jammed live and kept 'as is' to preserve all of the wonkiness."
Earlier this year, Afrodeutsche provided two reworks of Marie Davidson's "Day Dreaming" on a remix EP with Nina Kraviz. Eclair Fifi was recently named one of five key performances at the March edition of Australia's Pitch Music & Arts festival.
