- The Organic Music boss has opened a storefront for used records and vintage clothes in Shimoigusa.
Chee Shimizu has finally opened a record store in Tokyo.
In our Playing Favourites feature with the revered Japanese digger, Shimizu said it was his "dream to one day run a physical record shop" to complement his online store, Organic Music. Now, Shimizu has done just that.
"The store is called Organic Music + Planet Baby Physical Store," Shimizu tells RA. It will sell "secondhand records and vintage clothes mainly," along with "accessories, T-shirts, mirror balls" and artworks by Japanese artists.
The shop is located in Shimizu's hometown, Shimoigusa, at 4-32-17 Shimoiguas, Suginami-ku, Tokyo.
In addition to the store and DJ gigs in Japan and beyond, Shimizu runs the HMV Japanese reissue sub-label, Japanism.
