  • Echospace's Stephen Hitchell has announced plans for a three- CD series from his Radius alias, Interpolation Tapes. The longtime purveyor of dub techno and ambient is diving into the Radius archives for the second time this year, following last month's release of the Obsolete Machines double-disc album. Prior to that one, Radius hadn't been heard from since 2001, after which Hitchell started focusing on other aliases like Soultek, Intrusion and Variant—not to mention his DeepChord Presents Echospace collaboration with Rod Modell, which recently put out a live recording. As usual, Hitchell and Modell's echospace [detroit] label will handle the release of this project. It's the result of a nearly year-long effort to restore and reprocess more than 100 hours of cassette recordings made over a seven-year period, from 1994 to 2001. The first part, Interpolation Tapes [Restoration One], will arrive on limited-edition CD and digital formats later this month. Listen to some excerpts.
Tracklist 01. Interpolation [1.0] 02. Interpolation [2.0] 03. Interpolation [3.5] echospace [detroit] will release Interpolation Tapes [Restoration One] on May 29th, 2017.
