Dopplereffekt to play show about 'origin and the end of universe' at Sónar 2017

- Barcelona's Sónar Festival has announced details of its technology-focused Sónar+D programme, which includes a live show featuring Dopplereffekt about the "origin and end of the universe." The electro duo, who are releasing their first album since 2007 in April, will perform the Entropy show (which is being presented by TodaysArt as part of We Are Europe) with the astronomer and cosmologist Dr. Dida Markovic and visual artists Antivj. Taking place in the SónarComplex auditorium at Sónar By Day on Thursday, June 15th, organisers are billing it as "immersive experience somewhere between a conference, an audiovisual concert and a live documentary." Sónar+D's programme runs in parallel with the rest of the festival, from June 14th through 17th, with 180 speakers, networking events, demonstrations and performances. The full schedule is available on the Sónar website. This year will see Resident Advisor return to Sónar to co-curate the Saturday night programme at SonarLab. The lineup features Carl Craig (presenting his Versus Synthesizer Ensemble), Daphni (playing back-to-back with Hunee), Marcel Dettmann (playing back-to-back with Dr. Rubinstein), Beautiful Swimmers, t q d, Overmono and Ylia. The likes of Nicolas Jaar, Moderat, Nina Kraviz, Andy Stott, Jlin, Cerrone, Matmos, Earl Sweatshirt, Veronica Vasicka and Justice will also perform at the festival.
