  • Level will host a party with White Material Records at a TBA loft location in Brooklyn this Saturday, with all proceeds going to the ACLU. Young Male, who co-founded the offbeat techno and house label in 2012, released a new 12-inch via White Material this month. It's the only one they've put out this year, which is no surprise given the label's unhurried release schedule (in 2015 they only had two, including Alvin Aronson's label debut, the City EP). Aronson and Young Male will get together in New York with fellow label artists DJ Richard, Galcher Lustwerk and Morgan Louis for the first time since their rooftop party at Output last summer. The party was rescheduled from its initially planned date last weekend, and now all proceeds will go to the American Civil Liberties Union. The organizers write: "Following the US Presidential election and subsequent uptick in racial tension and discrimination, the party has decided to donate 100% of profits from the event to the American Civil Liberties Union. The event marks the second charity-focused party of the year for Level, who raised funds for Alzheimer's caregiving at a roof party featuring Willie Burns, DJ Wey and Lawrence Lee earlier this year." Listen to an Alvin Aronson mix from early this year.
