- Floating Points, Lorenzo Senni and Paranoid London are among 17 new artists confirmed for the Barcelona festival.
Sónar has added 17 more names to its 2015 festival.
With more than 100 artists already confirmed, the lineup for the 23rd edition of the Barcelona festival is nearing completion. Joining the likes of Autechre, Squarepusher and The Bug at Fira Montjuic for Sónar By Day will be Jimmy Edgar and Machinedrum's four-deck project J.E.T.S., Italian Lorenzo Senni and Finnish pair Jimi Tenor & Jori Hulkonnen, who will be performing the Nuntius soundtrack live. The RBMA-curated SonarDôme stage has also expanded, with slots for Floating Points, Palms Trax, Mexico's LAO and grime duo Skepta and JME.
Sónar By Night, which takes place across Friday and Saturday at Fira Gran Via, will host sets from the likes of Duran Duran, A$AP Rocky, The Chemical Brothers and Jamie Jones. Five new acts have just been added to the pile: Paranoid London, Salva, Francesco Tristano and DJ Fresh on Friday, and Rone on Saturday.
In other news, Sónar+D, the festival's technology arm, will showcase Nyloïd in the Hall+D space. Created by Swiss brothers André and Michel Décosterd, the spider-shaped sound sculpture "is a sensual and threatening experience consisting of three 6 metre-long limbs, brought to life by sophisticated mechanisms and audio devices."
