- Counting Triggers will be the Belgian artist's debut on the esteemed techno label.
Yves De Mey will release a double-LP called Counting Triggers on Sandwell District in the next few weeks.
De Mey has one foot in techno and the other in avant-garde art. After a stint producing experimental breakbeat and running the label Knobsounds, he recorded numerous soundtracks for films, theater and modern dance performances, while also teaming up with Peter van Hoesen as Sendai for more straightforward (if ultra-deep) techno productions. His taste for heady techno makes him a likely fit for Sandwell District, the enigmatic label run by Function, Regis, Silent Servant and Female. Counting Triggers will mark De Mey's debut on Sandwell District, and also his first non-soundtrack release under his real name (he put out a few LP's at the beginning of the last decade as Eavesdropper). It will be available exclusively as a double 12-inch. As with Sandwell District's 2010 album Feed-Forward, no specific release date has been set.
