- Punch Drunk will release the Bristol noisemaker's next LP in September.
This September, Punch Drunk will release Ekoplekz's next album, Intrusive Incidentalz Vol. 1.
Ekoplekz's music is inaccessible in more ways than one: the bulk of his catalog is available only on limited edition CD-R or cassette, and the music itself is usually lo-fi, noisy and without discernible key or rhythm. He strikes a chord with fans of more avant-garde sounds, not least Tom Ford, AKA Peverelist, who's released his music on Punch Drunk and booked him for his Dubloaded night in Bristol, where they both live (one of these performances was documented on a recent cassette from Further Records). Intrusive Incadentalz Vol. 1 is an improvisation-based album that the label rightly describes as "a 12-track collection of dark, oppressive atmospheres and violently unstable interludes." It will be available on vinyl, with included access to a digital download.
