  • Josh Eustis' project Telefon Tel Aviv has announced plans for a North American tour supporting Moderat. Eustis, who survives TTA co-founder Charlie Cooper, announced in January that the group would play its first live show in six years. In the wake of that announcement, he said he had "never experienced such a powerful amount of support in my entire career." Now he's confirmed new material as well as a tour and the reissue of their landmark 2001 debut, Fahrenheit Fair Enough. The label gives a brief description of that record, recorded in Eustis's childhood bedroom in Louisiana: "Living in New Orleans in the late 1990s, Eustis and Cooper were in the thrall of two musical orbits: black America—New Orleans’ bounce, Detroit’s techno, Chicago’s house—and British electronica—Autechre, Aphex Twin, Jega. Recorded over the course of a year... Fahrenheit mapped out a potential for American electronic music in a time of hope." Full details on the repress are on the way. The pioneering IDM project will head out on tour with Moderat (Modeselektor and Apparat) after the April dates, hitting large venues such as Webster Hall in New York and the Fonda Theatre in LA on the seven-date jaunt.
