- For Disc three of the Hooj Classic series, a rework of a mid 90’s classic is featured as well as a remix by a techno legend.
Pete Lazonby’s ‘Sacred Cycles’ first made an appearance on John Digweed’s Renaissance 2 mix compilation in the mid 90’s. It was re-released with remixes half a decade later, and the Quivver mix is featured on this third disc of the series. Quivver reworks this classic with his quality drum patterns and makes great use of the trademark swooshing synth that was so prominent in the original. The early breakdown is stunning and the track goes into overdrive in the second half while maintaining the classic essence of the original. Classic work from John Graham.
On side-B, Dave Clarke adds his unique remix style to the very successful ‘Movin’ Thru Your System’ by Jark Prongo. It’s an array of driving beats, combined with a energetic display of uplifting retro strings. The vocal line is there; “When you feel the rhythm, moving through your system” it states. A solid modern Hooj Classic.
