  • Valesuchi, based in Rio de Janeiro and originally from Santiago de Chile, opts for leisurely slow-burners over slamming kick drums or raging basslines. "I just don't vibe with violent, grooveless music for the dance floor," she told Mixmag last year. Nearly four years since her last release, her attitude hasn't changed. "Servers of Fate," which she calls "a devotional opening to the sub and to my heart," is low-slung, squelchy techno. It's introspective and hazy with complex layers of FX: steady, light-handed drums and spiralling melodies build momentum against an opaque atmosphere of twanging synths. There's plenty of energy, but it's the track's scratchy texture—muffled cymbals and an assortment of warped noises—that makes it a truly hypnotic listen.
