Guile - What We Got

  • Bleepy tech house meets '90s rave.

  • Gene on Earth's label, Limousine Dream, has an impressive track record for identifying the best producers in the world of contemporary tech house. Past releases include swung drum royalty Sweely and rising star Reflex Blue, to name two of my personal favorites. His latest release, from Buenos Aires producer Guile continues this impeccable run. It's easy to see the attraction on Joe's Garage. Thumbing through Guile's past releases, there are wiggly-but-chunky basslines along with the video game synths that are catnip to this particular corner of the dance world. And while all of those motifs are here, he also spices things up a bit. Record opener "What We Got" adds a vintage piano house melody, rave chords and hip-house vocal sample to the usual bleeps and bloops. It's a fun, light-hearted tune perfect for the Southern Hemisphere festival season.
