  • It hasn't taken long for Silv-o to find his footing as an artist. Since 2022, the London-based musician has rolled out glitchy singles that smudge futuristic songwriting, deconstructed club rhythms and overcast ambience. His music feels perfectly tailored for a rainy afternoon spent strolling through some unfamiliar shopping district, the billboards and storefronts fading into a glum blur. Silv-o's first official EP, M32, arrives via DJ Python's Worldwide Unlimited label—a fitting home for pieces that are at once soundscape-y and propulsive. Across seven tracks, jungle and dubstep grooves churn beneath AutoTuned vocals and dreamy keys. The whole thing calls to mind what might happen if Vegyn made a record commissioned by aya and BFTT's wubby YCO label. Silv-o got his start in the sound design world, scoring projects for streetwear brands like Cav Empt, Palace Skateboards and Nike. M32 stays true to this background, and it's easy to imagine this music soundtracking some leftfield fashion show. "Tryin 2" opens with standoffish percussion and hazy pads, which provide a cloudy backdrop for Silv-o's slackery, pitch-shifted singing about putting in effort while struggling. "It Iz" is the airiest moment on M32, centered on fluorescent synths that land somewhere in between Space Afrika and '90s IDM. "Blues" ends the EP on a woozy note, driven by a lithe beat peppered with pitch-shifted voice snippets. The title track feels like it's moving at warp speed, pairing blissed-out vocal samples with a choppy breakbeat that never quite drops—emphasising Silv-o's enviable ability to make music as light as it is commanding. This early on, he's already honed a strain of dynamic experimental pop that seems like it could burst into flames at any moment.
