- The members of Bangkok collective UNSTๆ, many of whom are also affiliated with More Rice, play freewheeling DJ sets that run the gamut of house and techno sub-genres. Whether dishing out prog or acid, their sound is chuggy, groove-focused and tripped-out. This quintessential afterhours mood characterises their second in-house release, a collaborative EP between UNSTๆ member Pati Mala and Chiang Mai-based producer Liem, who runs a bar in the northern city called Noise. Across seven minutes on "Lost Control," he coats minimal techno's thumps with a sparkling glaze of synth melodies. Like shooting stars going in different directions, each twinkling pattern criss-crosses a sky of oddball effects and a driving bassline. It's an invitation for dancers to throw down with their heads in the clouds.
