- "Todo O Nada," from Uruguayan producer Stonem's 2019 debut, was a certified hit in the new minimal corner of clubland. It was one of those few tracks that make the leap from grainy YouTube footage at Hoppetosse to peak time at Love International. Since then, Stonem has kept up a regular release schedule, but none of his tunes have matched the majesty of his debut. That is, until this latest release, a split EP with Z@P. Of his two contributions to the 12-inch, "Cartografias" is the knockout. The track starts with all the classic trappings of Montevideo techno: light yet punchy drum programming, minor chords with little sprinklings of acid. Stonem adds in a billowy melody that snakes its way low in the mix, turning an otherwise austere work into something breathtakingly beautiful.
