- New York producer WTCHCRFT's new EP for Local Action sub-label Clasico feels like something of a mission statement: bold and playful techno four ways, from booty house renditions to old-school acid to Tresor-baiting bleep. "Tissue Paper" is the clear favourite. It starts out as a deep house feint, with an addictive and deeply funky snare-hat-kick pattern that eventually soundtracks a driving arpeggio that darts around like a snorting truffle pig looking for its treasure. It's tough, but charming and groovy—qualities that define the Brooklyn techno scene that WTCHCRFT is such a vital part of.
