- With its jazzy, Latin-inflected piano groove and chunky deep house grooves, Heidy P's "Elevate" sounds like a New York summer. It's groovy, old-school and a little humid, shot through with disco and a healthy influence from mid-'90s Louie Vega—especially once the vocals and band section come in, ecstatic scatting and horns adding an infectious, almost careening forward momentum. The Carry Nation's excellent remix adds a bit of dubby wobble, taking the original's family-friendly daytime vibes somewhere deep into the night.
