- Teesside producer Boo's latest single, "Neoteny," is based around a fluttering, phased vocal halfway between Bicep and the White Lotus theme song. It floats above a stormy low-end of buried trance kicks and rumbling basslines, like an undersea volcanic eruption—you can feel it roiling, even if you can't quite hear it. Chunky breakbeats come in for the second half of the track to lend it some heft as the vocal goes haywire. "Neotony" is trance revival, but not in the usual way, folding in influences from '00s breaks and prog house with a very 2023 UK style.
