"يس (YS) Riddim" is a straightforward rap track, perhaps the record's most functional, but it still has some eccentricities. Alternating between bars in English and Arabic, Ramallah-based rapper Dakn opts for a grime-inspired flow to match MOSHTRQ member Azzouni's discombobulated drums. Alone, the instrumental is a a grime-inflected take on Bristol-style techno—cut-up, slowed down and warped. With Dakn's slick and convincing delivery, it's an exciting preview of more cross-genre collaborations to come out of Cairo.
