- seb wildblood's upcoming album, separation anxiety, has a number of eye-popping collaborations, chief among them a healthy three team-ups with New Age pioneer Laraaji. The opener, "hear / here," is the first single from the album, a fluffy cloud of floaty, garage-influenced house with plenty of billowing synths and vocal cut-ups to tug at the heartstrings. It might be a boilerplate Four Tet cut if it weren't for Laraaji, whose zither playing elevates the track, his fingers woven in at all the right moments—never flashy, but always there when the skippy beat needs a bit of sprucing up. It's a collaboration that glows with mutual respect rather than gimmickry, and one of the loveliest sad-boy house tracks in a year unusually full of them.
