- Latrec is a new project from London stalwart Andy Bainbridge and self-described "incognito idiot savant" Serious Hots (a moniker whose Google rabbit hole will either lead you to a Phil Collins record or something else, depending on your algorithm). The original version of "Kutika" is a bass-heavy roller with little hints of acid—a bit too slow to be tech house proper, but with that same late night creep that Nathan Coles made famous. If the original is bespoke for the waning hours of a party, Remotif's remix is for peak time. The BPM gets turned up with a breakbeat and the nervous chatter of the original is reimagined as a building and soaring melody. I mean, he even adds in a full-on trance breakdown. It's still got a bit of the weirdness of the original, but this is the perfect thing to get you in the mood for boat party season.
