Khun Fluff - Daw (Konduku Dub)

  • Dark, dubby techno rooted in a kind of pan-Asian syncretic ritualism.

  • On the second compilation from pan-Asian label Siamese Twins, cofounder Sunju Hargun went full zen ambient. Made under his Khun Fluff alias, "Daw" evoked scenes of a temple prayer with its droning synths, tinkles and chants. On this new remix, Konduku transforms the ambient cut into dub techno but keeps the original's mysticism. There's a mutational quality to his rendition, as if each darting synth line and acrobatic drum beat were evolving into new hybrid forms minute by minute. If Hargun's original had a whiff of worship, Konduku's interpretation portrays an individual embarking on self-improvement to earn the blessings of higher beings. Transcendental with deadly low-end frequencies, this is a deep exploration of ritual practices and meditation.
