Funky Fresh Few feat. Wildflower, Stradegy and Sinista – Heavy Hittin’

  • Share
  • A meeting of minds from both sides of the Atlantic, and features some relatively unknown MC’s. I have never heard an all female posse track which didn’t talk exclusively about sex and being a rich, well dressed ho like Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim and the like. If you feel dissed then you probably deserve it! Straight out of the UK comes Wildflower with her raga tinged UK accent and pulls out some decent flows. The intro starts off with her announcing like a train conductor that the next stop is going to be Grand Central station and she busts into it like a SWAT team breaking down a door – quickly and viciously. From the US comes Stradegy and Sinista who both sound a little similar in delivery yet come out sounding smooth as peanut butter. Sinista comes out first with her high-pitched voice and then Stradegy delivers her verse to teach female MC’s out there how to bring it wicked verse without going down (there’s a pun there) the slutty way. Let’s not forget who produced it though and in fact it is the instrumental that hits you for six. One of the main reasons why I like this song is not due to the MC’s delivery but the fact that it does not contain any chorus. The chorus is done by Damon Savage cutting and scratching hip-hop acapellas including one where Guru says “Heavy Hittin’”. The instrumental can survive on it’s own. If you like The Herbaliser then this will appeal to you. Side A: Vocal, Instrumental Side AA: Radio, Acapella
