- Jay Sriyuksiri, AKA Sarayu, is one of the founders behind Bangkok label More Rice Records, a vinyl-only platform that focuses on producers across Asia's club communities. Alongside fellow cofounder DOTT, the two are proponents of a sound known as Thai minimal: trippy techno laced with dub, acid, breaks and electro. "The Bag," a sprightly, proggy gem of a track, is a great encapsulation of the style. It has the skippy drums of garage with minimal techno's hypnotic, taut bassline. Warped droning acts as the track's heartbeat, pulsing with adrenaline, as if a shipwreck were urgently broadcasting forgotten frequencies from the deep. Dialling down this intensity are fluttery synth patterns, moving with playful insouciance. This combination of pressure and nonchalance gives the record an irresistibly inviting air.
