Kaidun - Nano Swarmer

  • Leeds breaks—yes, those kind of breaks.

  • When's the breaks revival coming? I'm not talking about breakbeat, or jungle, or anything like that—breaks. You know the kind. Leeds producer Kaidun makes a good case for the early '00s sound on "Nano Swarmer," which is tight but twitchy in all the right places. It has the perfect propulsive bassline—like it could be right out of an early-'00s Stanton Warriors mix—which the drums orbit around like an undulating hula hoop. Capped off with chanted vocals and an endearingly goofy synth, "Nano Swarmer" finds a new wrinkle in this decade's intractable dance music nostalgia.
