  • South London's Nymity is the type of artist who paints vivid pictures with music. Whether it be through his Debt & Refuge show on NTS Radio or his live sets, his priority seems to be triggering curiosity in his listeners. "SFMin (6th Of June)," taken from the debut EP on his own Skewed From View label, does just that. Nymity touches on trauma, and then healing, through aural depictions of struggle, a mindset governed by restless energy, which is eventually shut down by the blunt ending. Experimental in nature, "SFMin (6th Of June)" marries ambient storytelling with captivating sounds. The uninterrupted synth is the main act, oscillating between high and low frequencies that shroud the intentionally ambiguous chatter. Its prominence creates a dark yet delicate feel that complements the harsh vocals. The gradual layering and abrupt end of the distorted vocals conveys someone confronting and then moving on from trauma. Mirroring the EP artwork, "SFMin (6th Of June)" provides hope when there is no peace.
